Samsung S390G Review

The Samsung S390G is the newest Feature phone offered by Straight Talk.  This phone was just recently introduced and HSN picked it up with a pretty decent offer.  The offer included The phone, a cover, and a few other accessories but the price might have been too high for many.  You can get the same phone minus the other accessories.  The phone alone, will run you $59.99.  For under $60.00 you get a very decent phone with a full QWERTY keyboard and a very nice touchpad button combination.
This phone is simple yet powerful enough to handle all your needs including data browsing, email, Facebook, and of course unlimited s390gEnter your ZIP CODE to see if Samsung S390G is available.

Our Review:

The S390 is the Samsung prepaid phone with the blackberry feel. It has a 2.5 inch screen which looks very nice above the full QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard is simple to learn. The layout of the keys feels intuitive which makes for an easy adjustment and quick typing.  Our favorite feature on the phone was the track pad. It’s extremely quick and responsive but we need to warn you, it does take some getting used to.  The sensor is very accurate and a simple slide will move the cursor very accurately.  You can scroll through the menus very quickly using this track pad and gives the phone a refined feel.

One of the features that seems to be more common in new entry level models is the ability to receive email right on your phone. You can set up your personal email on your phone and get instant viewing access when you receive an email real time.  You cannot set up corporate emails on the phone, but being able to receive your personal email is a great step up from older prepaid phones.   You can even view HTML emails so you will be able to see your emails as intended, with the pictures and graphics intact.

It comes with an 2 megapixel camera that is pretty standard on a feature phone  and there is no flash , but pictures look very good in daylight. It should be enough for picture messaging.

The Samsung S390 is the perfect phone for low volume users that want an uncomplicated phone that does the job.  You cannot beat the price and Straight Talk monthly plans are the lowest around starting at $30 a month for the ALL YOU NEED PLAN which includes a 30 Day Plan card and 1000 Minutes, 1000 Text / MMS messages , 30 MB data and free 411 calls.
